Get to Know Heather

Heather Voegele formed Voegele Anson Law after spending more than 12 years at one of Nebraska’s largest law firms and 5 years heading the litigation department at one of Omaha’s fastest growing law firms, of which she was a founding member. Voegele Anson has extensive experience in all aspects of the dispute resolution and litigation processes and has first chaired more than 40 trials and arbitration final hearings throughout the United States. However, Voegele Anson’s experience extends far beyond the litigation process. Heather was selected by her peers for inclusion in the 2022 Edition of the Best Lawyers in America© for her work in Litigation.

Having spent her career working collaboratively with professionals in all aspects of the law, Voegele Anson has developed the unique ability to analyze a client’s needs from a variety of different angles. This allows her to formulate recommendations and solutions for clients that meet all their business and individual needs.

Get to Know Andreanna

Attorney

Andreanna "Annie" Smith joined Voegele Anson Law in February 2021. She graduated magna cum laude from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona with a degree in English Literature and spent three years as a senior editor of a national magazine before attending law school. Annie received her Juris Doctor from Phoenix School of Law, where she was an associate editor for Law Review, served as Vice President of the Federalist Society, and participated in a selective Prosecution Clinic and Internship. After graduation, Annie clerked for the Arizona Attorney General’s office in Civil Rights before moving to Portland, Oregon. There, Annie spent 7 years representing the interests of financial institutions in mediation and litigation, handling most of Oregon’s biggest foreclosure trials.

Much of Annie’s practice has involved advising large corporations on rules and regulations, as well as assisting with business practices to mitigate risk. Annie’s practice with Voegele Anson focuses on dispute resolution and civil litigation.

Get to Know Brady

Attorney

Brady Lain joined Voegele Anson Law in November 2023. Brady received his Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, Brady spent over a year working as a law clerk for the Douglas County Nebraska Public Defender’s Office, participated in a semester-long judicial externship with Chief Justice Susan Christensen of the Iowa Supreme Court, and worked as a student attorney in the Creighton Civil Legal Clinic. Upon graduating from law school, Brady served two years as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge Michael Pirtle of the Nebraska Court of Appeals. Immediately prior to joining Voegele Anson, Brady worked as an Assistant Public Defender representing both juveniles and adults in criminal, delinquency, and parental neglect cases. Brady’s practice with Voegele Anson focuses on civil litigation and dispute resolution.

Get to Know Mark

Attorney 

Mark J. Foxall earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law with Programs of Concentrated Study in Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law. While in law school, he served as President of the Nebraska Entertainment and Sports Law Association, Treasurer of the Multicultural Law Students Association, and Communications Chairman of the International Law Students Association. While in law school, he was awarded the H. Case Ellis Spirit of Mediation Award at the International Academy of Dispute Resolution International Mediation Tournament held at Loyola Law College in Chicago.

 

Mark spent his summers during law school as a law clerk for the Criminal Division of the Douglas County Attorney’s Office, assisting in all matters related to criminal prosecution. After graduation, he acquired experience working as a transactional attorney in the insurance industry negotiating a number of large residential and commercial property and title disputes representing both residential and commercial insureds, as well as Fortune 500 insurance companies. In addition, Mark has acquired litigation and trial experience working as a criminal defense attorney and zealously advocating for his clients throughout all stages of the criminal justice process both in State and Federal Court. Mark’s practice with Voegele Anson will focus on dispute resolution and civil litigation.

Get to Know Kristy

Claims Specialist

Kristy Skoog-Smith, an eastern Nebraska native, started her career in law as a legal assistant in collections before joining Voegele Anson Law in December of 2022. Previously, Kristy spent nearly twenty years in the Early Education field, employed by one of the largest early childhood education facilities in the U.S. She graduated magna cum laude from Midland University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Education and Art, with a concentration in commercial art. Kristy’s wide range of coursework, work experience, and attention to detail has proven vital to her current role as a Claims Specialist where she manages case calendars and assists with case development and legal research.

 

During non-work hours, Kristy enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family.

Get to Know Jace

Claims Specialist

Jace Backman was born and raised in a small town in northeast Nebraska. Jace graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2008 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Before joining Voegele Anson Law in October of 2023, Jace worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer for 10 years for the State of Nebraska and has tremendous experience with the court system.  Prior to his career in probation, Jace was a Family Support Worker. With his combined skills in high client service expectations and being thorough in research, Jace is an instrumental piece to the firm.

 

In his free time Jace likes to golf and spend time with his family.

Get to Know Toni

Office Manager/Paralegal

Toni Smith is a native of western Nebraska who started her career in the Omaha area after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management from Bellevue University. After 12 years as a member of the executive team of a large local childcare center, Smith decided to endeavor into the legal world and help start Voegele Anson Law. Smith’s experience in the areas of client satisfaction and management have proven to be invaluable in the Firm’s inception and growth. 

In her capacity as Office Manager, Smith keeps her finger on the pulse on every aspect of Voegele Anson Law and monitors the Firm's processes and practices to ensure clients receive the best possible service. As a paralegal, Smith oversees document production matters and various aspects of trial preparation.
